Author's summary: The morning after Alcatraz, the weather was mild.

This was written for me. I tell you this in the interest of full disclosure, but I almost hate that I have to mention it, because I fear now that people will avoid the rec and think that I'm just being nice.

I'm not.

This fic is breathtakingly spectacular. And that's an understatement. It is the most perfect post-X3 fix-it fic that I have read, bar none. Every dangling thread is picked up, every fractured explanation is twisted just enough to make sense, and every single character is so spot on perfect that it gives me chills every time I read it.

The morning after Alcatraz, the weather was mild: Storm was still unconscious.

Later, they would gather in the Professor’s old office. Later, they would regroup. Later, later, later.

The sunrise after Alcatraz was brilliant reds and yellows. It was peaceful on the school grounds.

Such things couldn't last.
