Why this must be read: Now you know I can’t give the Van back without recommending a series! And this is a great one. Full of relationship development and mystical twists and turns, yet never forgetting that there’s police work to be done. Cases are investigated and solved. And each story is written in my favorite style: POV. Blair’s, Jim’s and even Simon’s.
The Three Treasures trilogy covers the aftermath of Sentinel Too. Here we see the beginnings of Blair’s journey to understand his death experience. The rest of the stories follow Blair after he has become a detective, from his first big bust (that he almost doesn’t survive) through his growing confidence as an interrogator. At the same time he’s honing his skills on the shaman front.
Unfortunately neither Incacha nor anyone else is around to help. Blair researches and experiments on his own. Between the inevitable grittiness of police work and the gravitas involved in studying shamanism, Jim despairs that he’s losing his best friend. At the same time love is developing, but a lost Burton manuscript might put an end to their new relationship; or twist it in a whole new direction. Engrossing, well written, classic.

The last two, Without Feathers and Power/Play were meant to have a third part, but that story fell apart and never came back together.

I must admit I do have a fondness for Rosie, simply because Jackson Browne was favorite singer and it was clever working of that particular song into the story. It's funny what people remember. I remember the song and someone else described it as the story where Jim makes a bookcase.
Without Feathers originally stuck in my mind because I hated "Dogma" the first time I saw it and I like having an entire story from Simon's POV. I've always admired how he can balance leadership and friendship. Power/Play I liked specifically because of the "play". Most of the series was about Blair stretching his powers. It was great that they were able to evolve together. And I've got a thing for Jim in Kevlar -- even imaginary *g*
Sad about that last story, but I never felt like the series was left hanging. If your muse ever wants to go down memory lane, I'd look forward to that or any TS story you'd care to create.

I don't know if the third story will ever emerge from the dark side of my brain. It was going to be in Jim's voice, which is notoriously hard for me to hear; the man just doesn't talk much. The webpage hasn't been touched since before 2000; I'd like to update it one of these days if I can find a suitable program (for Mac; the page was made when I was on my old Dell), and maybe then Jim will tell me the rest of the story.
Thanks so much for commenting on the stories!

I realized after I posted that she probably meant that, but I can't even see a "contact the author" link on those pages. I must be blind. =>}
I'm sure I'll enjoy them. I pretty much always enjoy your recs. *g*
