Why this must be read:

There are some days that I don't know why or can explain why fanfic or literature in general can hurt so much or uplift the soul and today is one of those hurting days. Some stories are meant to reach out and grip your heart and I really try to avoid the depressing ones because frankly my life sucks enough. But like a glutton for punishment I chose to read a gen fic based on Tim having the "big C" and it's reverberating effect. I've read some amazing fics about diseases, disabilities, and hell I've written my fair share of death fics but it's really hard to read such an amazing and real fic about something so personal to me. I've done it before, I work my way through fics like they're candy but this one when it was not even finished was heart wrenching and stopped me in my tracks.

I don't know why I wanted to babble about my angst etc on LJ I really just use it to lurk but I wanted to rec this fanfic in a major way and to maybe let lose a few more tears my rereading of this chilling fic. Even if you'd never had some die from or live with cancer this fic brings to life the reality that such a horrible diagnosis brings.
