The Embrace by Viviana (PG-15)

Fandom: THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.
Pairing: Napoleon Solo/Illya Kuryakin
Length: 427 words
Author on LJ:[livejournal.com profile] viviana7
Author Website: Archived on Chrome and Gunmetal Madhouse

Why this must be read:

This is quite a short piece, but makes me ache every time I read it. The small scene, told from Napoleon's POV is exactly how I perceive the relationship between the boys to be. Not all fluffy and chocolates and roses, but just the occasional moment of tenderness.

A must for me in this fandom is that Illya isn't portrayed as submissive or weak in any way. Viviana has the same perspective with her stories where Illya is an alpha male on an equal level with Napoleon. This particular story is little more than a drabble to read but speaks volumes about their relationship. I love it. Short and sweet, but definitely not fluffy.

Great rec. I love [livejournal.com profile] viviana7's stuff for all the reasons you do. Her Illya and Napoleon are competent and edgy and love each other in ways that express this. *sighs*
