Why this must be read: I recently had this recommended to me, and I thought I'd pass on the rec, as there might be others who had missed it. I've always liked this pairing--for example, Smithbauer is one of the few people I can see Fraser having buddy sex with, and it's interesting to explore their history together during their teenage years. This fic is set in the beginning of season 3, when Smithbauer comes for a visit to Chicago. I love the way that they're easy and relaxed with each other, but still there are things between them that aren't said. The sex is hot, but the ending is bittersweet and makes me feel for them both.

I know! There are so many older stories in the archives, and I'm sure there are more good stories like this one there, but it's kind of hard to read archives at random when you don't know the authors. At least, I usually don't have the patience for it. I guess that's why we have reccing.
