Why this must be read: This is an AU where Ray missed and Fraser and Victoria escaped on the train, and the way that Fraser cedes control to her and loses the sense of who he is is just heartbreaking. I really had tears in my eyes. They go south, toward the tropics, and the heat that Fraser can hardly stand further strengthens the feeling that he's out of his element. I also love how the sex is written (well, love it in the sense that it makes my heart ache).

Am I the only one who hated that episode? Seriously? It was beautfully filmed but it seemed to have been written by someone who didn't know the character AT ALL. Nearly everything he did or said was completely out of character, even making allowances for "love makes you stupid". The core Fraser wasn't there at all.

I thought it was good, because it helps make Fraser a more complex and interesting character, and the Fraser/Victoria relationship fascinates me. But YMMV, of course, and I'm sure there are others out there who don't like it. There's some thought-provoking meta about the Victoria's Secret episodes here and here, if you're interested.
