Why this must be read:

Kink is fast becoming a bandom specialty, not because it's all anyone writes, but because almost everyone who writes it does it well. There's a wealth of amazing kink!fic in bandom, some of it being kink for kink's sake, some of it using the kink to develop characters and relationships in an in-depth way, all of it gorgeous and worth reading. I love reading about boys (and girls) and their kinks, the things that make them who they are, and so I'm really excited to be reccing my first kink!fic of the month.

This ficlet, inspired by some amazing fanart from the talented [livejournal.com profile] blackboggart, leans more toward "kink for kink's sake" and is a fabulous introduction to the world of bandom kink. [livejournal.com profile] longtime_lurker presents round characters and dynamic situations in a short time, captures the very essence of what makes kink so delicious, and does so without miles and miles of plot. The basic premise is this: Brendon gets corset piercings to celebrate the band's signing. It's not just the piercings that speak to Brendon's character, it's why he makes them permanent and along the way, seeing his band's reactions to it showcases their relationships with him and each other.

These things are very subtly woven through the fic and what you'll probably notice upon first read is just how hot these boys are. There's great use of UST here, and the kink is beautifully drawn and handled, which is just the way I like it. So go read, have a gander at the pretty art, tell the author you loved it, and read again.

The first time it's an impulse thing, paid for with the entirety of his first advance check from Pete - money much better spent on rent, gas, equipment, food, and yet here's Brendon, handing it over in exchange for three straight hours of acute pain all up and down his spine.

It's probably (definitely) a stupid decision. It's temporary, no one's going to be seeing it but him, and he'll be eating ramen for a month because of it. It's just - their record deal just seems like an event that needs to be commemorated, and Brendon can't think of a better way to do it than breaking the hell out of that fucktarded Levitican rule that his youth pastor always used to drag out, the one that supposedly bans tattoos and piercing or whatever. Because: fuck that shit.

That fic deserves to be recc'ed, I have to agree! It's absolutely delicious, so well written and so sensual. It's actually the fic that made me fall for bandom once and for all. I'd read - and enjoyed - a couple of Panic fics before but after that one, I was completely addicted :-)

I wonder, would you mind changing "GSF" to "Panic GSF"? As it is it's a bit difficult to tell which band it's about without reading the rec closely.

This is such a great piece (both the fic and the art), that I think everyone should read it, so thanks for reccing!

Oh, and FYI, this fic actually does have a title. Per the cut tag on that entry, it's called "the ties that bind".
