Why this must be read: An AU where Professor Yana is killed before he has a chance to open his fob watch. And the Doctor has to decide how far he would go not to be alone anymore. Absolutely belivable and brilliantly written, it presents the Doctor in all his complexity.
Just like that, it's over. The Futurekind are gone, scared off by Jack's blaster and the sound of his sonic screwdriver. But that's not without cost. The rocket launched without any issue, yes, but Yana, the man behind the rocket and the man behind giving his people hope, is dead. Killed by the Futurekind because he wasn't fast enough to escape.
