Dancing in the Dark by Irene Heron (NC-17)
Howdy! My name is
georgiesmith and I'm excited about taking my second turn driving the van for "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." fandom. Whee!
Fandom: THE MAN FROM UNCLE
Pairing: Napoleon Solo/Illya Kuryakin
Length: approx 6,000 words
Author on LJ:

Why this must be read: Irene is one of my favorite writers. She has a terrific style and in this story in particular she is exceptionally good at capturing Napoleon's voice - both inner and in her always terrific dialog. In this Christmas tale, Napoleon and Illya find themselves in Rome after a mission. Never one to miss an opportunity, Napoleon brings Illya to enjoy Christmas dinner with his Aunt Aimee (and Aunt Lucia) and it's there that Illya, well, has an entertaining and rather educational evening. I am unable to stop myself from grinning while I read this story. It's just a delight from beginning to end. As a bonus, there's incredibly hot sex to boot!
Here's a tiny snippet:
Aimee stretched out an arm to either side, gathering my left, and Illya's right, hands into her own surprisingly large, strong hands, and squeezed. "We have heard so much about you, you see. Whenever Napoleon calls, it is Illya this and Illya that, and let me tell you what Illya did last week."
Illya patted his lips with his napkin and went very, very still. "Indeed. I had no idea Napoleon was such a chatterbox. You must tell me more."
God help me. I was doomed.
