Why this must be read: I would be remiss if I didn't include some hateship, y/y? Anyway, "Straightjacket" and its sequel "Shellshock" happen after the miniseries ends, and Cain returns for Zero in the tin suit. There are some great memories from the both of them, fleshing out their characters in little ways. Zero lives his life like he's waiting for the inevitable to happen, like he always has - until Cain.
His parents weren’t from a real creative lot. They just named their children as they were numbered, in the order they were born, one and two and three.
But somewhere between six and seven came another little boy, so sickly and weak that anybody that took a look at him just knew he wasn’t gonna live. So Momma went and she named him Zero.
Except he didn’t die after all. He lived, he grew up and he became a man: one that they still called Zero.
