Why this must be read: It's a look at the immensely complicated struggle of the mutants of the Marvel Universe, the Brotherhood versus the X-Men, from an outsider's point of view, and the outsider doesn't know and doesn't care. What he cares about is that back when they were in a band together, Toad was a really good bassist. The story has great character work, taking a fourth-string evil mutant -- the Toad -- and giving him a history and a personality. There's also some very strange sex.
