Ice and Air by clarkoholic (Explicit)
Fandom: EUREKA
Pairing: Jack Carter/Nathan Stark
Length: 5,508 words

Why this must be read: Jack is caught in a mutant tornado, which makes him rapidly deteriorate. The only solution Global Dynamics can suggest is to put him in a cryogenic freeze until an antidote is found. A cure is eventually discovered--forty-seven years later. Jack, however, isn't the only one to find himself unexpectedly in the future: Nathan rematerialized five years earlier.
I like the parallels between Jack and Nathan in this fanfic. I think
clarkoholic has created the rare situation where Jack/Nathan is actually possible, since they are literally the only ones who can understand what the other is going through and empathize with each other. This story has a bittersweet tone, with just the right amount of hope at the end.

You may want to clarify this, as in this fic, Jack/Nathan was an established, long term relationship before Nathan vanished, not a first time fic.
