VID REC: Man from UNCLE - The Communicator and an Open Mind Affair

Vidder: bigbluemeany
Musical artist: Alanis Morissette--Hands Clean
Pairing: Napoleon Solo/Illya Kuryakin
Vidder on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] bluemeanybeany
Vidder's website: bigbluemeany youtube channel
Why this vid kicks ass:

This falls under the category "I can't believe it hasn't been recced yet". There may not be that many MFU vidders, but what there is is 'cherce', and the videos coming from the bluemeany shop are always among the best. This one though, is in a league of its own. MFU is an old show, but its stars are still working and the passage of time is etched on their faces. Bigbluemeany uses that fact brilliantly; with just a few seconds of modern footage added to the fantastic clips from MFU, she builds a story of love and regret; of an intense and complex relationship whose echoes linger for a lifetime. The mood of this piece will stay with you long after you've watched it.

This is such a great vid.
Thanks for reccing it.
The Clutterpod vid shop is fantastic.
One of my favorite IK bits is :40 where he is hopping sideways from a doorway shootng his weapon.

Oh and all the "looks" between the boys

I love all the meany sisters' vids but if any showcases their soaring talent in vidding it's this one. It's complexity is stunning. I'd never heard the song before. It now lives on my iPod. I've also posted a comment on your lj page [livejournal.com profile] elmey. Thank you for yet another great rec. It's been a real treat to have you driving the van this month.

I could not believe this hadn't been recced either until recently the crack_van mfu archive proved me wrong. I say cheers for reccing it :D

It is incredible, and tells such an amazing story, with many layers and complexities. Amazing. It's one of three vids I show to my uneducated culturally-deprived friends xD
