Hello all! I'm vermin_disciple, and I'll be driving the crack_van for the Life on Mars fandom this month. I like a wide variety of fic; I read slash, and het, and I have a particular adoration for gen, so you'll be seeing quite a bit of that this month. I love humor and whimsy and darkness and crack, and I'm especially fond of fic that plays with the show's more surrealistic elements.

I'm starting off with something a bit unusual, and very funny:

Okay, perhaps a little more explanation. This is essentially an epistolary, which combines fanfic and fanart to form a series of handwritten notes passed between Sam and Gene to discuss a typical CID dispute. And it is bloody hilarious. The two of them snipe at each other with increasingly snarky notes, and everything from the handwriting to the paper scraps feels in-character.

Also, the drawings! Oh God, the drawings! *g*

There is also a (still funny, but also more serious) sequel appropriately titled Just a Slightly More Dramatic Note, which is (ETA) followed by an Epilogue, and Tension is a Passing Note.
