Why this must be read: I don't read a lot of crossover fics. I generally prefer to know the other fandom well and because there are few fandoms that I read in, it limits the number of crossovers I'm willing to consider reading. This fic is an exception to that rule. I had never heard of The Sentinel before reading this fic. I have no idea what made me start reading but I am so glad that I did. In this wonderfully written fic, we follow Tony as he learns that he is a sentinel and his struggle to cope with his new abilities. The rest of the team (especially Gibbs and Abby) provide comfort and support. It also gives us a Gibbs who is unsure if he can live up to the responsibility of being Tony's guide. While Jim and Blair do feature in the fic, everything to do with being a sentinel is explained well enough that you don't need prior knowledge of the show to enjoy this fic.
