anactoria, and I'll be driving the van for Watchmen this month. There's been a lot of great fic since the movie, and I'm looking forward to being able to rec a little of it. :) Most of my recs will probably be Adrian-centric, as he's my favourite character, but having said that, I'm a multi-shipper and will read pretty much anything once, so I hope this month won't be entirely devoid of variety. To begin with... here's some (very clever, beautifully-written) porn.

Why this must be read: Jon's character voice is a difficult thing to get right. Not only does this story do that, but it sustains it for nearly 4000 words. His perception of time is woven in seamlessly, and his observations about Adrian (as well as the little things that give away bits of his own character) come across that much more viscerally for being narrated in such dispassionate style. Sure, the violence is startling and the sex is hot, but it's the mind-games and the sense of inevitability that make this so intense and so mesmerising.
“I’ve done terrible things,” you say. Your voice trembles with cold. I did not realise how slight you were. “I’ve thought about doing…”
Three. Two. One.
You pick up speed and earnestness until you overlap with the you who wears a purple suit and discusses imaginary stores of money with people striped with static on your myriad screens. “I would have done them, Jon. You can’t leave me here now.”
“You wish me to ‘finish the job’?” They are your words. You have not spoken them yet, but you will. “I am not interested in your sins,” I tell you.
Then comes the anger.
