Why this must be read: It is complex, intense and the narrative draws you in and doesn't let you go. From the merest hint of unease, the intricate plot builds to an almost painful level of suspense and the circumstances test the characters' relationship to the utmost. Along the way, details of the characters' past and life in U.N.C.L.E. are interwoven and there are even moments of humour.
Napoleon ducked his head to wipe blood from his eyes onto his shoulder and gritted his teeth. "Come on...!" he growled. "Come on!" He could feel Illya's light, erratic breathing where he held him under the arms, but his partner was unresponsive, his head fallen back limply against Napoleon's chest. There was so much blood on him it was unclear where it all had come from, or what had caused him to lose consciousness.
A bit of falling concrete sang past Napoleon's elbow and shattered, spraying them both with debris. Napoleon planted a foot against the pile of rubble under which Illya's legs were trapped and breathed deeply. He pressed his lips to Illya's ear--half to reassure himself that blood still flowed through him. "Come on," he whispered. "Not here, and not like this, tovarisch." He pulled with every ounce of strength in him. "Not here!"

I used preview several times before posting and the story link seemed to be in the right place, but it wasn't when I posted and I don't know what I did. (In the early stages of computer literacy, obviously!) I just tried changing it, but the only way the link shows is if I put it before the excerpt. Advice welcome!!

Are you using rich text or html when you post? If you're using rich text and the "automatic" lj cut feature, make sure the link to the story is underneath the line where you end the lj cut.
I usually use the html instead of rich text, it's more of a pain, but it's more reliable for me. In that case you put {lj-cut text="Read more"} at the beginning of the cut, and {/lj-cut} at the end of the text you want to put under the cut. The story link would come after that.
{}would change to < > and "read more" can be changed to any text you like.

It's probably not worth worrying about too much. As far as I'm concerned, even with the excerpt your review is short enough to just go on the front page.
That's what I did when I drove
