Why this must be read: It'd be a short rec if I just wrote because it's spectacular, but this fic is truly in a league of its own. Try to reconcile a post-season four fic set to the prompt from a contemporary Harlequin? Crack fic? A train wreck? This is neither! Somehow Allison manages a tight story that fits perfectly within the apocalypse story line that is also about Sam exploring sex with men for the first time as he blogs about it, which leads to Dean wondering what's up with Sam - again? The characterization is as good as it gets outside of the writers' room, and coupled with a fresh twist on an old romance genre trope, this fic raises the bar for everyone writing Sam/Dean. It's funny and bittersweet, thread with angst and confusion. One of my absolute favorites in this fandom - hands down and without reservation.
