Why this must be read: If I could get away with it, I'd rec CB's entire master fic list for Supernatural, thus I called in back up in the form of the gorgeous girlmostlikely to help me narrow down the list.. until there was one. The story begins at break-neck speed as the reader is thrown into a hunt gone wrong and the possibility that there may be (another) Winchester fatality. It's blunt and raw prose that feels like a kick in the gut until everything slows to its inevitable end and we find out whether it is a last day on earth. Candle Beck is spectacular here but she takes risks, which is one of the reasons she's a compelling must-read writer. She knows these characters and her dialogue is second to none. Truly, one of my favorites but also, more subjectively, one of the best fan fictions I've ever read. Don't miss it.
