The Adventures of Gerard and Frank (shortened title) by theopteryx (PG-13)
Fandom: BANDOM
Pairing: Frank/Gerard
Length: Two comic books
Author on LJ:
theopteryx
Author Website: Masterlist
Why this must be read:
I would be remiss not to mention
thegaystarfish, or as it's officially known, The Adventures of Gerard: Boy Princess of the Ocean and Frank the Italian Gentleman's Son Who Loves Him!. The title speaks for itself. :)
It is a series of two comic books in story format. It's a popular and unusual offering in bandom, a comic that is full of harlequin tropes taken to whimsical extremes and plenty of in-jokes that are easily digested, if you're unfamiliar with them, as part of the eccentric undersea adventure story. The creator's genuine delight in the characters and the material resonates throughout the comic, and as a result of that enthusiasm I have re-read this story many times over the years. Two final words of endorsement: moop moop!
Excerpt:

Book One
Chapter One: The Meeting
Chapter Two: The Bubble Palace
Chapter Three: The Dinner
Chapter Four: The Friends
Chapter Five: The Knights
Chapter Six: The End
Book Two
Chapter One: The Problem
Chapter Two: The Delegates
Chapter Three: The Carnival
Chapter Four: The Mission
Chapter Five: The Mermaid
Chapter Six: The Heir
Pairing: Frank/Gerard
Length: Two comic books
