And now we’ve arrived at the first comm I ever posted in, ds_flashfiction. It’s a fabulous challenge comm that I can’t rec highly enough. There are hundreds and hundreds of terrific stories, easily found either by tag or in memories.

This is one of my favorite fics from this comm EVER, and considering it’s gen, that’s saying a lot. It’s from the Fraser Fucked Up challenge, and has RayK telling a group of schoolchildren what being a real cop is like.

Teaphile didn't say it was RayK in the story itself, but she did specifically bring up the ep Ladies Man in response to one of the comments. And she didn't correct a later comment that mentioned CKR.

I totally agree that this scenario could have happened with either Ray. But I believe that in this case, the Ray she's written is RayK.

But is it RayK? Teaphile never specified. I think it could easily be RayV as well.

Except that the Rays are not interchangeable, they are unique and different. If you set aside the blond nephew, and the fact that in the comments of the fic teaphile mentions the Ladies Man, the Ray in this story doesn't talk or act like Ray Vecchio. His body language and his speech pattern all point to Ray Kowalski.

Maybe the idea was to have the reader choose a Ray, If it wasn't, I really wish people would stop assuming that "Ray" automatically means Kowalski.

But you should take that up with teaphile if you can find her. mizface has no control over that.
