Why this must be read: Anything by KAM is wonderful, and this one is a particular treat--written for a Christmas challenge, it's not Chirstmasy in the least. Give yourself a long space of time to read, KAM weaves in mentions from several third season episodes, but the main bulk of the story is set before during and after The Plague. Starsky and Hutch are out to find the assassin who brought a plague with him--and then Hutch is struck down, just as the two of them realize they are in love. There's some nice back story on the two doctors who care for Hutch, as well as raunchy phone calls between Starsky and Hutch since Hutch is in isolation.

As far as comments to the author goes - there was nothing on the page that I could see that would leave a comment. I went to the story archive link and the email link there didn't work. Its hard to comment if you can't easily find a way to make the comment.

I was surprised and pleased to find fiction about the original Starsky and Hutch. I remember having a long conversation about the guys with a friend of mine. It was really nice that we each had a different favorite.

There's lots of Starsky and Hutch fic around, many different sites. There are so many S&H drivers on crack_van that it's almost difficult to find a great story that hasn't been previously recced.
