Why this must be read: This is hysterically funny and so damn cute that there were several near fatalities of teh cute when it first appeared. This story is all in the details, the clock ticking, the menu board, the sock covered toes. And check out the last scene, the sign above the bed and the book on the table, these make the whole thing, for me.
