Requiem for Innocence by Lara Garek (PG-13)
Hi, it's me again
kanders07 driving the van for September (hey someone left a candy wrapper in here). I've got lots of stories for you and I hope you enjoy my offerings. I'm especially trying to find things that either haven't been seen before or haven't been seen in a long while. Let's go!
Fandom: MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.
Pairing: none
Length: about 23,600 words
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: http://www.file40.net/
Why this must be read: I've had this story bookmarked for a very long time. Reading it again, I remembered why. The story is intense and written in such a way that you continue reading in order to find out what exactly happened to young Illya Nickovetch Kuryakin. Without giving any of the story away. Illya meets someone from his past and eventually lays demons to rest.
Here's a little tidbit for you:
"The young woman wrapped her wool coat closely around her as she walked briskly south on Seventh Avenue. With her free hand she pulled the collar up against her short auburn hair and ducked her chin down against the wind. The library had closed at ten and Anna Ryan wasn't finished with the paper that was due in her economics class Thursday. She had made a quick stop at the coffee shop for a large dose of caffeine before heading for home. It was going to be a long night."
