Why this must be read:
Because who can resist a good Aliens Made Them Do It type fic? This story just cracked me up with the awkwardness of the situation, the Doctor's complete obliviousness to Rose's feelings and the hot sex that eventually ensues. It's a fun read that everyone will enjoy.
“Oh, this isn’t good. Well, not disastrous. Just… not… good.”
Rose tried not to look worried when the Doctor made that announcement. She tried very hard to keep her face neutral and just keep walking beside him. So what if her hands were bound behind her back? So what if they’d been set upon the moment they stepped outside of the TARDIS, bound up like they were some sort of criminals?
They’d be fine. Because the Doctor always got them out of situations like this. He just… did.
“What’s not good?” she asked.
Apparently she must have sounded scared, because he turned wide brown eyes to her and grinned. “Oh, don’t worry — they’re not going to hurt us.”
Well, small favor, that.
“They just like tying people up?” The words sounded wrong on her lips, so much more wrong than they had sounded in her head. Sarcastic. Not at all hopeful.
“Sort of,” the Doctor said. “They’re Amorindians. From the planet Amorindia, which is oh — a beautiful planet. Absolutely beautiful. Full of lush vegetation and flowers. A real paradise Beautiful banana groves. I’ll take you there one day.”
“Doctor —“ Rose cut him off with a sigh and a stern loon. This Doctor certainly talked more than his predecessor had. Tended to ramble. It was absolutely adorable sometimes — just not right now. Not when they were being taken prisoner. This was not the time to be indulging his obsession with bananas.
Rose bit the inside of her cheek. This was also not the time to be smirking inappropriately over the Doctor’s obsession with bananas.
“Right,” he nodded. “The Amorindians are universal matchmakers. They just travel about in their ships, capturing people that haven’t owned up to their feelings and making them do just that. Empathic — that’s what they are. They just —know- when a two people — sometimes more — should be together.” He frowned. “Though, how and why the TARDIS landed us on their ship is beyond me. You and I don’t need their services..”
Rose flushed, turning her head before the Doctor could see the blush that was staining her cheeks a brilliantly hot pink.
