Why this must be read: These two are different again.  They have a shared history of violence and tragedy before we ever meet them in the show and there is the sense that some tension remains between them as evidenced more than once during the episodes.  Then of course they exhibit the closest thing to a clinch on-screen as any of the Mag7 couples do (well, apart from when Vin fell down the mountain) :)  This crisp and evocative shortie is just a taster of how Buck and Chris have the potential to do both epic and cosy.

Buck must have seen the turmoil in his eyes, and laid a strong arm over his shoulders. That, and the look in his eyes, said everything Buck couldn't say out loud.

Kate is an awesome writer, and when she offers to write to prompts, you know you're in for a treat. I love what she did with my request to put a little hurtin' on Buck, and am so happy to see it recced here. :)
