Why this must be read:

In some post-Karnak AUs (some of them excellent--this is no criticism), Laurie leaves with Jon, allowing us to focus on Dan/Ror. This fic seizes this plot device, and instead follows Laurie in order to cut through some popular readings of Laurie's character and the dynamic between Jon/Laurie; it packs quite a punch with the use of the glass motif, the emptiness that she finds in Jon and her inability to come to terms with the past. hearts_trickle has built up a store of great stories and character studies, her fics often trigger both recognition and surprise: recognition because I'm reminded of some aspect of the character that I've somehow lost over time, surprise because there's usually something different being done--well-worth digging through her journal!

When she asks Jon how it felt to die, every atom ripped apart, he only looks at her with his pure white eyes, and they shine, and shine, but there is nothing in them, nothing at all.
