A Thousand Cranes by Mikhale (PG-13)
Alright, friends, I'm MF Luder and I'm finally here to start the Supernatural van going for this month. I mainly read Wincest and Dean/Cas, but don't be surprised if additional pairings show up or the occasional rare pair.

John Winchester, for all his faults, holds a strong place in my heart. No matter how misguided he was in bringing up Sam and Dean, he loved his sons. So this simple, beautiful tribute to him always makes me smile, even through the sorrow the boys feel.
The next time you see one is when you open the glove compartment.
Two of them land on your lap, looking up at you through their sharp paper beaks. They look so delicate next to the handgun beside them.
You pick them up and look at them. One is meticulously folded, the other almost ugly in its imprecise creases and corners.
When Dean comes back to the car, you hold them up to him, silently asking.
He looks at them for a long moment and you wonder if Dean is somehow speaking to them. Then he takes them, carefully returning them to the glove compartment.
"Where'd you learn to fold cranes?" you ask him.
He starts the car and shifts into first.
Fifty miles later, he says "Dad taught me."
