Why this must be read:
Many regard the Guideverse to be part of the extended Whoniverse WSOGMM (whole sort of general mishmash). This is not because the creator of the one wrote for the other (which he did), or even because both tend to lend themselves to crossovers very easily (which they do). This is because, while not necessarily to the extent of Torchwood, they are part of the same universe in a way. Not only can the Doctor be seen reading one of Oolon Colluphid’s books in one episode, but he even at one point claims to know Arthur Dent, calling him a ‘nice man.’
References to the Doctor show up in Guidefic almost as often as references to towels or Janx Spirit, but AstroGirl has taken it all one step further. Her simple Guide entry details this strange Doctor person, towels, sonic screwdrivers, and very confused hitchhikers, and why they all have something in common.
