I, The Endless Sky by Lady Krysis (PG-13)
Fandom: The Losers
Pairing: None
Length: 465 words
Author: Lady Krysis
Website: Dreamwidth / AO3
Why this must be read:
Aisha can be difficult to write - it can be hard to get into her head, to figure out why she does what she does. Is she really going to kill Clay? Does she really want her revenge? Why would she bet on Petunias soccer games and cheer the birth of Pooch's son if she's focused purely on revenge?
It's a little more clear-cut for comics, but it can still be difficult to work her out.
A few authors in the fandom have nailed her though, and
lady_krysis is definitely one of those.
She's righteous, she's furious, she's sweet revenge and bitter rage. And in this short story, three scenes of revelation and mourning, you get the sharpness, the beauty, the gloriousness of Aisha.
Excerpt:
Clay is the weapon that Max pointed at her father. The team itself is a weapon, seamless, precise, and Max carelessly discarded them. While Aisha wants to leave them rotting in graves, she doesn't make the same mistake Max did. She reassembles them and gives them a new target.
