Why this must be read: The first thing that drew me into this fic was the title. So few words, but the title almost functions as a story unto itself in all its heartbreaking glory. Great look into James' head and his thoughts on Helen. I love this depiction of their relationship, because I can't see it playing out any other way for James. And the ending that forensicirulan picks is just perfect - such subtle denial. Helen is too wrapped up in her head to see what's right in front of her, both literally and metaphorically.
