Why this must be read:
OK, it was a tough decision on which story by this author to recommend. I mean, she has so many REALLY REALLY good ones. I'd really recommend checking out her LiveJournal for more of her stories.
Anyway, I chose this particular one because I totally love Vampire AUs, but they can often be kinda really bad. This one? WONDERFUL. Mycroft is searching for his human mate and he will die if that mate rejects him once found. It's set in a version of pre-canon where Sherlock hasn't met John yet and where Sherlock, like Mycroft, is a vampire. Oh, this is fabulous, with a very interesting take on the vampire mythos and some truly smashing characterization of Lestrade. Go forth and read! (And don't forget to feedback the author!)
