Why this must be read: This fic doesn't have a plot - rather it's a collection of snapshots from Helen's life. Each piece is amazing in its own right, poignant as hell and contains a wonderful insight into Helen and/or her relationships with John, Nikola, James and Ashley. sheikah's writing style is absolutely fantastic, especially so in the Ashley passage. The last lines are killer, had me tearing up a bit. Definitely one of my top five favorite fics in the fandom.

“I remind you of what we had before,” Nikola murmured in a rare moment of sincerity. “We’re all scattered to the four corners of the earth, Helen, and you running into me again brings up the good times. Remember those nights in John’s flat, arguing about the latest theory of the day? I’ve never found anyone who can go toe to toe with me like you.”
