Why this must be read: I can't believe this hasn't been recced here yet, so I will do my reccing duty. This is one of the stories that came out of the due South Big Bang in 2009, and it's a WWII AU, told in bits and pieces from many characters' POV:s. There are also quotes, telegrams, photos, and all these things come together to tell a powerful story that will stay in your mind for a long time. Despite the pairing label, this is almost more of a gen story focusing equally on Ray K, Ray V and Fraser, although there are F/K elements.
