In the 'Big Bang' we learn that Rory has decided to stay behind and guard the Pandorica from all comers. This is the story of Rory's 2000 year wait.

Theonlytwin has fleshed out a sadly neglected part of canon. In the show we see Rory settling down for his wait then. Poof! The future happens. I always wondered what happened in those 2000 missing years. It was quite annoying. Luckily Theonlytwin must of felt the same way because she delivers a lovely look into what those long years must of been like for poor Rory.
