Why this must be read: I like both of these shows, and the authors manage to do justice to the characters of both fandoms.

It’s not easy to do a good crossover. Too often the author is more versed in one fandom to the detriment of the other. There’s also problems with the setup – how did the characters from one show end up in the city/state/universe of the other. When you throw a time span of centuries into the mix, you *really* have a challenge. DawnC does this very well while staying within canon for both shows.

On his way home from the university, Blair interrupts an apparent assault of a woman. He is then attacked and thus starts an odyssey that takes him, literally, across time and space. As Jim tries desperately to find him, he comes across a trio of men who have some answers. It seems that the baddies have gone back in time to significantly alter Earth’s history, and it will take the best of both fandoms to stop them.

DawnC tells a good interesting story, taking advantage of the natural banter and relationships among the various characters to keep you engaged. She’s not above poking a little fun at canon -- the ridiculously short skirts of the Enterprise females, Chekov’s cheesy accent and the Red Shirt trope – and we get to smirk along with her.

JudyL’s sequel brings the Enterprise gang back a few years later Cascade time, but Kirk and company are decades older. Once again, they have to foil a plot to change Earth history. Although this time Blair and Jim are not the target, someone close to them is.

Enjoy!
