Why this must be read:

This is the second long story in a post-Journey's End AU where, instead of leaving Rose and the human Doctor in Pete's World, the Doctor takes Rose with him and dumps his double at Torchwood's doorstep, where he ends up in a threesome with Jack and Ianto. The first part of the series tells that story, but you don't particularly need to read it to understand this one.

'Leaves of Memory' is a Donna fix-it story, and an excellent, plotty relationship drama that weaves Donna's returning memories, Doctor and Rose's communication difficulties, and the Torchwood threesome's most recent relationship-hurdle into an intricate tapestry, and resolves all of the various plot threads in ways that are quite satisfying without being either easy or perfect.
