Why this must be read:
The author's summary reads simply, "Leslie visits the Catacombs of Paris", but this story is so much more. The Twilight Lady is barely mentioned in the GN, and yet she's inspired countless fics. This one shows us a woman who is more than just a vamp, and gives us some idea of the fascination she might have held for Dan. The writing is evocative, and merciless, and the reader feels every second that Leslie visits a truer "underground" than she ever could have found in New York. (Claustrophobes, be warned.)
"...She paused at the entrance, and looked at the glimmering lights of Paris. 'Au revoir,' she shouted at nothing, and kissed the city goodbye, lest she not come back..."
