Apocalypse Tomorrow by svetlanacat4 (G, author did not rate)

Hello, everyone! Watch the roads, 'cause there's a new [livejournal.com profile] crack_van driver in town! I'm [livejournal.com profile] cosmosmariner and I am pleased to drive the van for The Man From UNCLE. I will be focusing on newer works for my leisurely drive this month, but hopefully I can shine a light on some authors who maybe aren't too well known, or works by better known writers that don't have a lot of mentions. BTW, I am a total Illya/Napoleon slasher, but I will read gen fic if it's awesome, like my first rec here:

Fandom: THE MAN FROM UNCLE
Pairing: Gen; no pairing
Length: One-Shot
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] svetlanacat4
Author Website: Her journal
Why this must be read:

Our favorite characters from Man from UNCLE find out that the end of the world is nigh! Unfortunately, I can’t go into detail because it will ruin the story, but just trust me…

Svet’s got a unique view of things that is refreshing to read. She’s got a wicked sense of humor and most of her stories are incredible. She writes a lot of slash and long format gen, but this fluffy, hilarious one-shot is perfect for anyone who likes quirky fic, and loves the Man from UNCLE universe without any sort of romantic flavor.

This is a good story, despite the irritating type face, lack of correct quotation marks and other punctuation and random spelling glitches that disturb the flow. This is a potentially great little fic that could have used a beta.

Every time I read some of Svet's I hear MFU with a French accent, and I adore it. It makes our universe expand a little more, and the voices in my head are very happy.
As Waverly would say: Armageddon indeed!

I have to say i love the way Svet writes. There is a punchiness to lines, and the way she uses language is so fresh, I realise this stems from it being not her native language, but once you get into her style it just adds flavour to the story.

Great rec! I don't know how I missed it before. Thank you!
