Something about Toads by Pyrebi (PG-13)
Greetings, SPN readers! I'm Lacey, and I'm taking another turn at the wheel of the Impala, which means mostly Dean/Castiel and gen recs. Hope you enjoy the ride!
Fandom: SUPERNATURAL
Pairing: Dean/Castiel (minor)
Length: ~3200 words
Author on LJ:

Why this must be read: There's something about a fairytale that makes me smile. This one is no exception: it involves Dean and one very persistent toad who's hiding a secret. Yes, it's cracktastic, but it's self-consciously so, and it works well in this case. Sometimes Dean's life really is this bizarre. Just a note: the story steps outside of canon, but think of it as how Castiel might come into Dean and Sam's lives under other circumstances. And, of course, there's a happy ending, which is something we all need more of, right?
Halfway through Dr. Sexy M.D. (“dude, there’s like literally nothing else on, I swear”), this croaking starts up. On the scale of toad sounds, from “I am the happiest amphibian in the world, look at all this pond scum and these fat june bugs” to “woe is me, fish have eaten all of my eggs, I have lost a leg, and there is a psychopathic cat the next farm over,” this is a heartbreaking serenade of toad misery.
It pretty much just sounds like normal croaking, though. Whatever. Anyway. The toad is sad. It expresses its sadness by annoying the hell out of Dean.
