Some Things are Better Said by Aeneus (Rating: R)
Fandom: DONALD STRACHEY MYSTERIES
Pairing: Donald Strachey/Timothy Callahan
Word count: About 1,800
Author on LJ:
laeta
Author Website: None of which I'm aware.
Why this must be read: The Strachey Mysteries have two canons — book and movie. As is shown in the fandom overview, the characters are very different from one universe to the other. Fic writers usually choose one or the other universe in which to write, but Aeneus has brilliantly turned book!Donald into movie!Donald, all in the course of one heartbreaking story. This beautiful, ultimately uplifting piece was written for
nick_n_nora's "monogamy" challenge in 2007.
It's dark by the time I get home. First thing I do is finally take that piss. Even though I'm only a door away from Timmy, I stall for time. The whole drive back I was thinking of Timmy and now I'm afraid to face him. He told me once that if I was going to continue fooling around behind his back, he didn't want to know about it. Of course he does know - about some of it at least - but we've stopped talking about it. It saves us the arguments and I've been selfish enough to pretend we're better off for it.

I'm hoping we can do it again in December, when the community hosts small fandom month.
