Luck by Cousin Shelley (not rated, but I'd say R)
Fandom: STARSKY & HUTCH
Pairing: Starsky/Hutch
Length: 3626 words
Author on LJ:
cousinshelley
Author Website: More fic by this author can be found under her name at AO3 and on her LJ.
Why this must be read: As far as I can determine, this is the only S&H fic on the web by Cousin Shelley. Which is a shame, because she has a real way with the characters, their voices, and their relationship. Starsky's superstitious streak is showcased here, together with Hutch's patented "You don't really believe that, do you?" pragmatism. We also get some delightful dialogue and sweet, fade-to-black sex. Though they may not see eye to eye on the subject of luck, the guys don't let that come between them!
Where Starsky considered possibilities, Hutch quoted facts and statistics. Pragmatic, practical and realistic, that's what he was and he guessed he'd always be. He envied Starsky sometimes, for his hope and the way he looked at the world. Hutch felt wonder at very few things in life, but he felt it when he thought of Starsky. Wonder and awe.
