Shirt!porn!!! Wheee! After Grenada Holmes series and Harry Potter, I am all about the costume porn. Thanks for mentioning the specifics of that shirt. I love that thing.

The suit porn was what drew me into writing Sherlock.
I could do a whole month of nothing but clothing fic/art/vid recs for the fandom. His coat alone...

I only wish we were on IJ so I could use my 'Snape's buttons' or 'Snape's boot' icons, lol. Srsly, I pored over The Grenada series looking for the Victorian influences to Snape's suit, and I found some. Those high-waisted, button-down-ankled trews appear in (strains memory) that early episode where he disguises himself as a tradesman and waits outside a woman's home.
OMG, that coat! Did you hear that the manufacturer put it back into production following the release of the show? Smart.

asdlkjafkjaflk I can't believe I was recc'd. Thank you!!

I only watched the series for the fist time this August (no cable + wrong side of The Pond). And it was so good that I looked up some fanfic. And the fanfic was so good that I converted to, well, reading fanfic. And then I somehow accidentally wrote a fanfic. And then I was recc'd and my brain exploded.

(Then last week I discovered Sherlockology and Tumblr and the fact that people have really researched the props and wardrobe, which I wasn't aware of before, hence my slightly AU take, but the most logical scenario is that Sherlock would steal Mycroft's credit cards and order his shirts from a tailor, the lazy bugger, and not actually go to D&G, unless of course a grateful client was paying his way. Which could have happened too.)
