Seven Ways to Fall Asleep by tartancravat / tartanfics (PG)

Fandom: SHERLOCK
Pairing: John/Sherlock (asexual)
Length: 3500+ words
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] tartancravat / [livejournal.com profile] tartanfics
Author Website: LJ Masterlist and AO3
Why this must be read:

Everybody in fandom wants to get John and Sherlock in bed together. For the first time, there is no alien menace, no love potion, no "fuck or die" scenario. Nope. These two men just live and breathe enough of each other to get into each others skin—and under the covers. The author makes it perfectly sane and natural for them to start sharing a bed together, and there's never a reason to question it.

Seven Ways to Fall Asleep

This made sense for the characters and has left me sleepy enough to crawl into bed. Thank you.

Just wanted to say that I've really been enjoying your asexual!Sherlock/John recs. While a Sherlock obsessed with the puzzle of John can be a believable basis for the intense romantic relationship found in some fics, a sincere attachment without sexual interest seems much more consistent with canon, and you have chosen some lovely examples, this not least among them.

It's a nice story, but -- hardly "for the first time" without the type of things you cite; most of the sharing-bed trope stories in Sherlock don't have dramatic premises for them sleeping together.

Um, I'm fine with them not sharing a bed. I'm fine with genfic forever, in this fandom and every fandom, actually.
