Why this must be read: One to take to your bunk. This is hot like fire, but there's a theme and a message in there too -- a happy combination of porn and plot. It starts with some gloriously vigorous and enjoyable sex, starkly contrasted with Charles' hilarious internal monologue about what a good boy he is, and how good boys don't. The tension in him gets ratchetted up in every subsequent scene, and Erik is wickedly unsympathetic and just devilishly irresistable, damn it. Poor Charles and his "ideas you get from reading too much Kipling" never stood a chance.

I just recently began exploring Erik/Charles fiction but at AO3 I mostly check out stories with the highest number of kudos and/or comments, so I did not notice this one. Will check it out now. Thanks for the rec!

That's a good basic indicator, but unfortunately it falls down when stories were first posted to LJ or DW and received all their praise there. :-) I hope you enjoy it.

I'm so glad you recommended this on here, because I read it recently and thought it was just wonderful. I was surprised at the low hit count on AO3 when I first read it, because this story deserves to be read a lot more than it has been. I think it was posted over here first in response to a prompt on the kink meme, and then again at the author's LJ.
