Why This Must Be Read:
One of the things I love most in fanfiction, any genre, any fandom, is the High School AU. If there's a HS AU anywhere in the area, I will read it. As far as I can tell, there aren't a lot of true AUs in MFU fanfiction. So, imagine my surprise and joy when I discovered that one of this year's Down the Chimney Affair entries was a MFU HS AU! YAY! Yay, I tell you!
Not only is this a fantastic premise for a story - UNCLE raises their agents from adolescence - but it's written wonderfully to boot. The powerful chemistry between Napoleon and Illya are in full force, even as teenagers. I know that when the story was over, I wanted to go with them, to partake in the adventures I knew would come their way.
Utopiantrunks has really created a work of genius with this, what I believe is the first high school AU in MFU fandom! If you're like me and you really like this type of fic, give it a shot.
