Why this must be read:
Author's Summary: Sam screamed, turning to fold Adam into his own body, offering what little protection he could as the thrust of pain speared his back.
I know I can't be the only one to just have their jaw drop at Adam Milligan's ultimate fate in the SPN canon; I just couldn't believe that The Powers That Be would let such a wonderful character suffer that kind of an end when there was so much story in him (though knowing the tendencies of Supernatural characters coming back from the dead, who knows really...).
Well, CeCe gives us a very satisfying AU that rescues Adam from Season 5 canon; all the while, diving into what makes him and Sam tick as they're trapped in the Devil's Cage with Lucifer and Michael. She kept me enthralled seeing these two brothers draw closer and closer and start to develop the type of relationship that Dean and Sam has with all its brotherly love and protectiveness. The ending just made me smile and know that a better future was in store for our brotherly trio.
