Why this must be read:Because this utterly compelling mystery is delightfully meta. Sherlock, John, and Sarah investigate a murder involving fandom. The sly fandom portrayal is so much fun. An epic Raymond Chandler fandom flame war and Fandom Wank both figure in to the investigation. The characterization sparkles. Sherlock’s annoying, smug brilliance is spot-on, while John is his sweet, BAMFy self. Sarah is brave, smart and you can totally see why John likes her. She is well aware she is battling it out with Sherlock for John's attention and fully capable of holding her own.
