Why this must be read: John is stabbed and Sherlock is knocked unconscious by a thief who is trying to avoid capture. When Sherlock wakes up he's told John is dead... While Sherlock attempts to through the motions of living, he isn't coping well. It isn't helpful in the least that John keeps appearing. This is another one of those terrific stories that is full of layers, that'll keep you guessing until the very satisfying end.

And despite what you read in the summary of the story, this is not a death fic. I hesitate saying that because it takes away from the mystery of the story a bit, but I don't want people to skip this marvelously well-written story because they don't like to read death fics. Trust me. Have I ever led you astray? (Feel free not to answer that last one.)

Aw, that's so nice of you to say! This is, I believe, the fifth fandom I've taken for a spin in the van and even though I find it nerve-wracking, I love it. I probably take it all too seriously, but it's such an honor to be able to introduce people to some of my favorite stories in my favorite fandoms.

Thank you! I've saved it to be read later, but I can say without doubt that if I'd seen it before, I would've avoided it, because of the death warning. Now I'm looking forward to reading it, since I love angsty stories, as long as there's a happy ending!

I hope you enjoy it when you do have the time to sit down and read it. I debated with myself for an hour or so whether to 'spoil' it by revealing it wasn't a death fic really but in the end I so wanted to share this terrific story and knew without the reveal so many people would skip it entirely no matter what I said about it.

I recounted and apparently Sherlock is my sixth fandom that I've driven the van for - The Man from UNCLE, Alias Smith and Jones, NCIS, Suits, Stargate Atlantis and then Sherlock. I feel like I'm incredibly greedy. I'm glad you've liked the stuff I've rec'd previously. I have eclectic reading tastes but I'm a mono-shipper per fandom - I have one OTP per show and rarely read any stories where either of my OTP are paired off with other people. I don't know if that's bad or not anymore. *g*
