According to one definition, poetry is "the art of rhythmical composition, written or spoken, for exciting pleasure by beautiful, imaginative, or elevated thoughts." Well, this description fits youtooblondie's poems to perfection. Her work is lush and lyrical, sensual and evocative. They are, quite simply, exquisite word paintings of our beautiful boys.

I chose to feature what keeps us together for the utterly gorgeous use of language in passages such as:

what keeps us from falling
apart is falling into each
other's arms

and

into the long night we
hold and mend and heal
what through the long day
was run over and left for
dead

but really? Pick any of her poems at random, and you will find each one to be breathtaking and moving. Sometimes sad and wistful, sometimes intensely erotic, always rooted in love.
